My work is an investigation of the complexity of the infrastructure within the Walled City of Lahore and echoes emotional, physiological, entanglements. The knotted electrical wires; neglected, dangerous, explosive yet still functioning reflect the state of the mind: drained, strained, yet still going. This story is of emotional turmoil. It mirrors my inner battles, my struggles where amid the sea of chaos, I have struggled to keep going . By recording and interpreting these city entanglements as a symbolic representation of my mental state, I aim to explore the gravity of my emotional exhaustion. The city’s visual aura is reduced to a language which conveys resilience, survival, and unvarnished reality. There is no romanticizing of the disorganization but an attempt to learn about it, to decipher it by way of texture, contrast, and material. This is a story of abandonment and rebirth; of survival and hope. This is a metaphor to the pain and fatigue that we carry within ourselves and project it on to our surroundings and struggle to overcome it
